Deputy Zago Calls on Adorni to Resign Over Corruption Allegations

Deputy Oscar Zago of the MID stated on Thursday that if he were in the same situation as the Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni, "he would have stepped aside," referring to the accusations the official is facing.

"I would have stepped aside... but each person makes their own decision. He will have to give explanations in Justice when the accusations start to move forward," Zago said in statements to Radio Splendid, collected by the News Agency Argentina (NA).

In this regard, the deputy, who was part of La Libertad Avanza and then distanced himself, stated that "there is a suspicion of corruption" and that "this situation brings problems" to the Government.

"It is always a surprise, especially when it comes from a person who gave advice on morality. I always discussed what it is to be from the caste," he added.

"With these irregularities, I believe that an attitude must be taken," insisted Zago.

Finally, Zago referred to the $Libra case and stated that the audited phone of trader Mauricio Novelli "is a cesspool," due to the messages that became known in recent hours.

"We have a lady detained in Brazil (for lawyer Agostina Páez) for a gesture and a man who committed a scam is free," he added.
